Issues

  • As a proud product of Chelsea Public Schools and current Chairwoman of the Chelsea School Committee, I have witnessed disparities in funding and support. My plan focuses on three elements:

Advocate for increased funding to enhance the learning environment, improve facilities, update technology, provide resources, and support teachers.

Expand access to higher education by removing barriers and empowering students to pursue their goals.

Diversify schools by investing in educators, staff, and administrators of color, fostering an inclusive environment.

  • As someone who saw her mom struggle to afford mortgage, I understand the gravity of the housing crisis. To ensure people aren't pushed out, I will:

Empower non-English speakers by providing more multilingual rental assistance resources.

Create more paths to home ownership.

Establish more protections for renters, including sealing records from cases in which the individual was an underage member of the household.

Collaborate with key stake holders across the commonwealth to approve rent control.

  • The impact of climate change is becoming increasingly evident in our lives. To tackle these issues, my plan includes the following strategies:

Shifting to renewable energy sources like wind, hydro, and solar power will combat climate change and reduce emissions.

Investing in public transportation offers sustainable commuting alternatives, decreasing emissions and congestion.

Enforcing clean energy standards for new buildings promotes energy efficiency and reduces carbon emissions.

Building resilient infrastructure minimizes the impact of flooding and extreme weather events.

  • As the daughter of an automotive mechanic and daycare provider, I've witnessed the struggles faced by families living on inadequate wages. I believe that the well-being of essential workers is crucial for a thriving economy. Here are my commitments:

Collaborate with unions by joining their marches, attending rallies, and introducing legislation that addresses their needs.

Provide local job opportunities by collaborating with local non profits to run city wide job fairs.

Invest in vocational training for residents of all ages.

Combat wage theft by supporting legislation that protect workers from wage theft.

  • As the proud daughter of a veteran, I am deeply aware of the challenges that many military service members face even after dedicating their lives to protecting our nation. Poverty, homelessness, and navigating through a complex bureaucracy are all too common. Here are the steps I propose to assist them:

    Improve services at soldiers' homes.

Promote legislation to protect veterans in the event of a state of emergency.

Facilitate a streamlined process for veterans buying houses in our communities.

  • Chelsea has long been overlooked and neglected, but I am determined to enhance the quality of life for its residents. My plan includes the following:

Expand MBTA bus routes and increase service times will make commuting easier and decrease the fumes that give Chelsea one of the highest asthma rates in the commonwealth.

Address the rat infestation by holding contractors accountable, providing free exterminations, and implementing prevention measures.

Promote affordable healthcare by pushing for accessible and affordable healthcare options, eliminating the need for residents to choose between medical needs and rent.

Advocate for community safety by actively working to keep ICE out of our communities, creating a peaceful environment where residents can live and work without fear.
